About the Author

JoAnne Nordling, m.s. m.ed., began her career as a classroom teacher and then served as an elementary school counselor for many years. Her extensive experience working with children, parents and educators resulted in a parenting approach that gives adults the tools enabling them to establish loving relationships with their children, and set firm limits without creating power struggles, ensuring that their children will grow up happy, responsible, and confident. She is director of Parent Support Center in Portland, Oregon and is active in organizing parenting and educator classes and workshops for Portland area communities.
