About the Author

In addition to being an author, Dr. Marco Walder is a life skills instructor, mentor and a poet. A native of Dallas, Texas, Dr. Walder earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master of Education in Secondary Education from Alcorn State University. He also earned a Doctorate of Education in Sport Management from Northcentral University and plans to be an advocate for improving the academic performance and graduation rates of college student-athletes. When he is not delivering motivational messages and speeches, he volunteers his efforts and energy to the Heads Up Foundation of Dallas and also referees for Metro-plex Sports Officiating organization, which serves the youth leagues of Texas.Marco expresses real life and real hope, for real love in today’s society. In addition to his book, “Let’s Stay Together: Dating Made Simple”, Dr. Walder has authored numerous articles including “Love in a Mason Jar”, “It Must Add Up”, “Emotional Intelligence,” and “How to Avoid Being Just a Need.” A noted speaker, Dr. Walder has presented for Dallas Independent School District, the El Centro Community College TRIO program, at Brookhaven Community College during African American Heritage week, and at local schools including Maynard Jackson Middle School and Oliver Wendell Holmes. His featured works, “Fixed Mindsets vs. Growth Mindsets” and “Do You Know Your Purpose” are targeted to a all audiences. Marco hosts book club reviews and talk-back sessions to bring a realistic dialogue for additional insight and discussion on the message of his book. During his undergraduate matriculation, he was a four year letterman on the football team. Dr. Walder is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society and is an active member in his local community. Dr. Walder is a strong Christian and roots his message in a biblical foundation- he attends Concord Church under the leadership of Pastor Bryan Carter.
