Synopsis

Finally a model that provides a systematic way to build students’ communication and oral language skills within a cooperative learning framework. Written by teachers for teachers, Intentional Interaction is a complete, well-organized, action-oriented resource with a great balance of theory and best practice. The model offers a fresh, research-based perspective on applying interactive learning across the curriculum in order to accelerate both academic content and language growth for all students. "We believe all students, regardless of background, are capable of participating in the scholarly culture of school. If our climate is conducive, all students can achieve at high levels. The key lies in our beliefs and actions as teachers. With the right tools, and clear intention, we can construct successful interactive learning communities within the classroom” (Sanchez & Harper 2012)
