About the Author

When Randall Probert wrote this book, he had retired from the Maine Warden Service after 20 years of service. During those 20 years, he patrolled most of the area in "A Forgotten Legacy". When he transferred to the Matagamon District in 1990, he reintroduced himself to Chub and Fran Foster. From that moment on, Chub wanted him to write a book about the history of the Matagamon Region. “...’Cause, boy, when I die, the history of this area goes with me.”
