Synopsis

This book is a must read for adult children who find suddenly, just when life is on overload, that their parents need help. Hugely informative and irresistibly engaging, Jan Simpson pulls us into her parents' world to help us understand the decisions we may face as we support our parents through their last years. By turns hilarious, outrageous, and utterly moving, Jan guides us through the transition from independence to death as she juggles children, work, siblings, and her parents' needs in a riveting journey, stopping on occasion to offer advice that is practical and possible in our busy lives. Jan has done what few have dared to do, provide an unflinching and compassionate view of the last decade of her parents' lives. Don't Give Up on Me! covers it all-the medical, *, familial, and financial challenges-along with a message of love and joy in an unforgettable story teeming with life. Her Authors Guidance and Lessons Learned will save the reader much time and heartache in his or her own family's journey.
