Review

The four most dangerous women in the world, codenamed the Shield Maidens, are thrust into the 1946 Havana Conference of leaders of the top Mafia families in the United States. They soon discover the Mafia chieftains Lucky Luciano, Meyer Lansky, and Albert Anastasia are meeting secretly with Soviet agents to negotiate the sale and distribution of opium through the New York waterfront operated by mob controlled and Communist infiltrated labor unions. Hope for Valhalla continues the spy thriller saga of former German agent, Erika Lehmann, now working for the precursor to the CIA. In the sixth book of the series, Mike Whicker continues to amaze readers with his masterful blending of thorough historical research, intriguing characters and suspenseful, fast-paced storylines.
