Grammar Write is a high intermediate ESL grammar and writing text. It both engages and motivates students to write, and provides grammar explanation and practice. In Part I, Writing, there are fifteen in-class journal writing topics that can be expanded into essays, and seventy additional prompts which can be used for homework or in class writing. Sample essays illustrate narrative, descriptive, opinion, and comparison/contrast. An essay grading rubric is included. Part II, Grammar, uses a combination of traditional and x-word grammar to present clear and succinct explanations of structures. Grammatically focused writing prompts give students practice with grammar topics and help develop self-editing skills. Themes include health and wellness topics related to mind, body, and spirit.
