From the Back Cover

It's not true what people say / About anything," writes Millicent Borges Accardi, while giving us a panoply of family narratives, persona poems, and reflections on history and the current moment. Her speakers navigate between casual lies and the unknowns youth is especially privy to, building, poem by poem, a body of hard-won truths.
--Janet Holmes, The Physicist at the Mall

If I were forced to choose what I like best in this immensely rich, intelligent book, I would choose the family poems. I am particularly moved by the rendering of the mother daughter relationship in all its ambiguities--the eternal desire to hold on and to let go. Fortunately, I don't have to choose and neither do you. Embrace, enjoy, every page of this wonderful book.
---Donna Hilbert, Traveler in Paradise: New and Selected Poems
