Synopsis

A "bird boy" wants to join Benita's Bird Club in book two of this serial chapter book series of seven books.

In Book Two of this seven-book serial, an Owl Boy discovers the Bird Club. He flies by chance into the tulip tree beneath which Ben and the Bird Girl sit talking. Later, he meets Olivia, one of the club members, in a rock shelter behind the waterfalls of a local state park. Olivia quickly recognizes the signs of a "bird person" in this strange boy (with tufts of hair like horns) and invites him to the next Bird Club meeting. She doesn't know that Benita the Bird Girl despises the Owl Boy and has already threatened to mob him with her band of crows.

Other books in The Bird Club, a single extended story told through seven books

Book 4: The Three-Cedar Secret. In the Fickle Forest, three cedar trees hold the truth behind the Bird Girl’s origin and destiny.

Book 5: The Impossible Divide. Benita the Bird Girl and Owen the Owl Boy enter a strange borderland that separates the human world from one reserved entirely for animals.

Book 6: Wild World. Owen the Owl Boy travels with Benita the Bird Girl to her home world. Though no place for kids, Wild World also calls to the Bird Club members who won't be left behind.
