Have you been made to feel it was your fault when you could not lose weight? It is likely that you did not fail at dieting; your diet failed you. This book is for everyone who has tried other diets and failed. Dr. Cohen explains why bad weight-loss diet advice, worsened by changes in the food industry, is responsible for the world-wide obesity epidemic. His answer is an effective, natural diet, based upon a modern computer model, yet confirming weight-loss principles first described more than 2,000 years ago by Hippocrates, the physician considered to be the father of rational Western medicine.

Dr. Irving A Cohen is a physician whose knowledge of dieting spans decades. Originally trained in Internal Medicine then in Preventive Medicine, he served as Chief Resident of Preventive Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. He Is Board-Certified in Preventive Medicine and Public Health. Interested in the current problems with overweight, type II diabetes, and chronic disease, he found the dietary recommendations promoted by the government were based on unscientific fads and responsible for the explosion of obesity and type II diabetes. Using his mathematical model to evaluate diets, he discovered effective ketogenic diets were not the fad diets of recent years, but resembled effective diets in use in Europe in the late 19th century. Those same ideas were recognized 2,400 years ago by Hippocrates. He has presented at scientific meetings, developed clinical programs and e-learning instruction. He has helped people with diabetes, obesity, and other conditions return to normal lives.
