This book was inspired by a trip that I took with my sister long ago. I was left awestruck and forever impressed with the country that is Costa Rica. I wanted to share and teach my own children the feelings that the country sparked in me. The beauty in not only the physical environment (such as the forest, animals and the land) but the amazing people! So very kind, accepting, and hardworking, but also full of joy and laughter. The Tico lifestyle left my heart full. My hope is that all children that read this story understand that we all belong and have a special place in this world. -Annie
