Synopsis

Mawai Kabuku has waited for years to become President of the Republic of Kenya. But as he's about to realize this life-long dream, Kenyans are suddenly confronted with the reality that his wife, poised to become the nation's first lady, is a cold-blooded devil. On top of that, it emerges he has a second wife nobody knew about. As the two formidable women jostle for influence in a post-Darapmio era, Kenya is rudely ushered into an era like it's never seen before. But as the war of wives begins in earnest, how long will it take Kenyans to decide which of the two titans is the real HER EXCELLENCY?

As Nick walked out, he felt so furious. Acidic. He knew that because of Agwambo's rapprochement with Kabuku, Cheriti and Kajana, there was no way Ohuru was going to win the election. Absolutely impossible, he thought.

But while Nick worried about Darapmio's golden boy losing the election, and how to protect his ill-gotten wealth in the event that his fears turned out to be true, in a Muthaiga mansion one woman was dancing to the tune of Kamaru's Mwomboko. She saw in Darapmio's miscalculation with the Ohuru Project--and Agwambo's nod to working with the Opposition--a perfect chance to become the president of Kenya.

Looking at the TV screen in disbelief, she grabbed two glasses from the dining room cupboard, poured half-full Scotch whisky into each of them, then held them up to a toast. She said, Long Live, Madam president!

As the glasses kissed midair, she whispered, I've waited long for this moment. The wait is over. She saluted, a wicked grin on her face. So my fellow Kenyans, I'm proud to present to you...President Luci Kabuku.

The dining room door opened suddenly. "What are you doing, Mother?"

Lucy turned sharply. She walked menacingly toward her baffled daughter, then whispered, "That question, my dear Judi, will be answered in four years."

"Ngai!"
"What?"
"I'm calling your psychiatrist."
