Richard Cummins Gannon was born September 19, 1952 with a life expectancy of less than 12 years. To the author's knowledge, in January, 2007, he is one of the oldest living persons who were diagnosed with cystic fibrosis as a newborn infant. Richard is the first person in Ohio to successfully undergo a triple-organ transplant, and the sixteen-hour surgery made medical news around the world! In January, 1991, at University Hospitals of Cleveland, he received a new liver, kidney, and pancreas. With the progression of modern medicine, his own constant faith in God, and the love, prayers, and support of his family and friends, Richard courageously persevered through overpowering life challenges.
