The cover illustration fittingly embodies the book’s essence: a combination of mankind’s oldest curiosity, the supernatural, with its latest fascination, electronics, specifically, the Internet. The e-Soup trademark represents the diversity of ingredients that, nevertheless, focus the reader on a singular main course: spirituality.
From stories that touch the heart to jokes that tickle the ribs, Spiritual e-Soup contains two-hundred essays, prayers, poems, parables, and lists. With no apparent sequencing, aside from occasional back-to-back stories for emphasis, the randomness enhances the distinctiveness of the book. Like Forrest Gump’s box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get as you turn the page, each of which offers something for everyone.
A quick, enlightening and uplifting read, Spiritual e-Soup offers divine nourishment to anyone who needs it. The stories contained in these pages will lift the reader up whether it is read in one sitting or kept on the nightstand for bits of encouragement as needed.

The author resides in Charlottesville, Virginia with his lovely wife, Malgosia, an architect specializing in designing intelligent homes. Their daughter Marta, a psychologist, lives in Chicago with her husband, Brian, a National Science Foundation scholar at Northwestern University. Ralph credits his son-in-law, Brian, with conception of the e-Soup title for the book series.
Heart-warming messages of hope and God's love A little boy who has lunch with God, a baby who loves without discrimination, a stingy shopkeeper who learns the weight of prayer - these uplifting stories, along with 180 other parables, poems, and prayers make up Spiritual e-Soup, an inspirational collection of e-mail messages lovingly compiled by Ralph Barnett. Offering an easy way to stay close to loved ones and communicate God's message of hope in our bewildering times, over the years these e-mails have spread like wildfire from in-box to in-box as friends passed them to friends, and family passed them to family. The words are simple, the message clear: we may not always perceive it, but God has a loving plan for us. Often humorous and always heartfelt, the stories remind us that God is in every person we meet; if we would just slow down and see it. Unfortunately, Satan is always lurking and we must also remain vigilant for his ploys. Spiritual e-Soup reminds us to focus our hearts and minds on God who grants us the grace to see Him in others. Spiritual e-Soup shows us that although e-mails may be instantaneous electronic transmissions, their positive messages can radiate in our hearts forever.|
