Don McNeal had learned about cooperation and hard labor in his family but knew almost nothing about football when he began playing on his high school team. His work ethic there helped earn the team a state championship and Don a scholarship to the University of Alabama. Don s skills advanced under the tutelage of Bear Bryant, making him a first-round draft pick for the Miami Dolphins in 1980, where he worked under the great coach, Don Shula. After ten years and two Super Bowl appearances, Don retired from the Dolphins and is currently in full-time church ministry as well as public speaking for Power Talent.
When tragedy visited the home of six-year-old Don McNeal, it could have shattered his family. Instead, a stern but loving father united his ten children into a cohesive team no one could separate. Don conveys his father s simple but valuable rules of teamwork that helped prepare him for very different careers in professional football and church ministry. These are downright honest, no-nonsense guidelines anyone can use to become an effective member of a family, team or any organization. Along the way, Don shares humorous and touching stories ranging from the barnyard to the football field and beyond.
