About the Author
Kathleen Woken-Rowley is a retired middle school teacher in California. She taught for over 25 years, and earned several grants and awards, including the prestigious Teacher-of-the-Year award in her final year of teaching. She has a passion for teaching and for great literature. Woken-Rowley co-founded Secondary Solutions and for years has continued to write and create quality educational materials for the Secondary classroom, including Literature Guides for Freak the Mighty, Night, Lord of the Flies, and more.

I d like to thank you for your much needed product. I am a secondary teacher trapped in a 6TH and 7TH grade classroom. My students don't respond well to the cutesy literature guides that look too elementary. I used your Freak the Mighty lit guide with my 6th graders, and we all loved it!
