Synopsis

Dog Overboard! Finding a lost, injured dog on a remote island throws Jeff's summer into a chaos of challenges. Where did this magnificent Doberman come from, and why is no one looking for him? Jeff could not find the answers, but the answers eventually found him in a way he could never have imagined. The results challenge his perspective and force him to face tough choices in a way that most twelve-year-olds never encounter.

Set in the summertime paradise of northeastern Michigan, in the author's hometown of Hessel, adults and children alike will enjoy this heartwarming story of a young boy and the dog he yearns to call his own.

Originally released in 1986, this popular story was slightly revised and brought back as Edition 2 decades later to serve as the basis for the TellTails series.

About the Author

Julie Nye established a life-long interest in dogs, horses, and storytelling before she started kindergarten. After college, she converted her growing dog expertise into volunteer involvement with multiple service dog organizations, eventually becoming a trainer, a board member, and the co-founder of a specialty program for training dogs to work with autistic children. She has been a freelance writer since 1986, with a variety of books through different publishers. Nye makes her home in Michigan with two German Shepherds: Voelker, a retired service dog, and Ajo, a young upstart with absurd amounts of energy.
