Synopsis
Since he was a boy, psychologist Paul Grant has been haunted by a strange dream. In it, he is Malchus, whose ear was cut off by Peter and reattached by Jesus. He is forced to witness the crucifixion of Jesus, after which he takes a small piece of the broken cross as a souvenir. Each time Paul awakens from this dream, he finds blood coming out of his ear. Upon receiving a small piece of wood with a stain from an anonymous sender, Paul begins to believe it has healing powers. But Paul, a professed agnostic, can't believe in miracles, since that would require God to be real. Now he must set out on a journey to find the truth about himself, his dream, and that small piece of wood. A breathtaking first novel, Relic is full of mystery and intrigue.
