I have been a clinical nursing educator for over 25 years. During those years, I have helped many thousands of nurses improve their own job performance and increase their own job satisfaction. I consider myself to be a nurse's nurse, because I am not hidden away in a classroom or office, but out on the floor everyday - interacting with hospital management, the nurses, the patients, and the physicians.

For many years I was the Director of Nursing Education and Informatics at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. I was in the LICH Nursing Education Department for 25 years. I developed the desire to teach nurses over 30 years ago when I was an ICU nurse at Staten Island University Hospital. It was at SIUH that I realized that I could learn how to be a better nurse by teaching the other nurses. I haven't stopped teaching since then.

I am now the Director of Nursing Education & Research at Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre, Long Island, NY.

I am also the Director of Medical Education at Dickson Keanaghan, LLC, a company that I helped start, where we train and certify the medical staff of over 500 hospitals, medical offices, and surgi-centers on Long Island and New York City.

Michele is also the editor of Notes on Nursing by Florence Nightingale - available on Amazon.com/.
