This work is edited by Peter Lodermeyer. This text is by Michael Fehr, Johannes Girardoni, Klaus Honnef, Peter Lodermeyer, Thomas Pihl, Beate Reifenscheid, Thomas Rieger, and Rene Rietmeyer. Personal Structures is an international art project initiated in 2003 by the author Peter Lodermeyer together with the Dutch artist Rene Rietmeyer. The project sees itself as a forum where artists producing formally-strict, non-objective works are presented and introduced through publications and exhibitions. On 16 April 2005, in conjunction with the first comprehensive museum exhibition of this project, a full-day symposium took place at the Ludwig Museum in Koblenz, Germany. Without being subject to any thematic restrictions, it was dedicated exclusively to the question as to what relevance non-object art has today and will have in the future.
