About the Author

Ralph Johnson was the alias used by Max Pulliam, a native of Benton, Illinois, who served as the business manager for the Shelton Gang in Bloody Williamson county in the mid 1920s. The second author, Jon Musgrave, a native Southern Illinoisan and historian.
