From Back Cover~This book covers basically the period from 1986, when I was a senior in high school, to 1998, when I began my Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. That time is significant because in February 1986, I suffered a massive brain hemorrhage that thrust me into a complete coma for fifty days. It also rendered me unable to speak for seven months and ten days. Many individuals stated that any substantial improvement was highly unlikely, if not impossible. But I learned to walk again, talk again, and drive a car. I graduated from Stanford University and taught school. I've also had many other meaningful achievements. With God's help and the loving support of others around me, I have come farther than anyone said I could and I am anxios to see what is around the next corner on this path.
