Synopsis
Pp. 72, (8), 5 plates (4 photos and 1 diagram), title page with tipped on color illustration of a lion. Publisher's brown ribbed cloth with printed paper labels on front board and spine, lg 8vo. This is a copy no. 26 of a limited edition of 215 copies boldly signed by the author and designer on the limitation page. According to Cave - Roderick Haig-Brown: A Descriptive Bibliography (E6), "shortly after the first 85-90 copies in cloth were sold, a legal dispute erupted between Al Purdy and Alex Widen (over money)" - this resulted in the remaining unbound sheet of some 110-115 copies of the book to be destroyed by the publisher. Thus, less than 100 copies of this limited edition are in circulation.
