The author is a writer about, and a breeder of, horses - both racing and show types. She outlines eleven topic areas (feeding, feet, stabling, etc.) then responds to 5 or 6 typical questions within those topics. The answers come from acknowledged experts in the discipline - Torchy Millar on the counter-canter, Dr. Laurent Viel on bronchoalveolar lavage, Robert Jolicoeur on riding rings, and Ann Hollings on horse haircuts. Cond : Boards are grey with gilt lettering on spine only. End-papers are cream. D.J. is buff with black lettering. Cover graphic is two inset colour photographs - one of Jefferies and one of Dune - her conformation champion. BINDING tight, colours bright. All edges ,corners and faces are clean and CRISPY. No flaws. No names. No marks. No stains. Very giftable !! Quote (p. 195) : " most horses do not like the counter canter. They find it difficult to do.
