Synopsis
This volume celebrates the centenary of Helene Weigel, founder and artistic director of the Berliner Ensemble, key artistic personality in the German Democratic Republic, and wife of Bertolt Brecht. A special "Forum" section is devoted to the exchange of letters between Brecht, Margarete Steffin and Arnold Zweig.
About the Author
Judith Wilke is a Brecht scholar and an editor at Campus Verlag in Frankfurt am Main. Maarten van Dijk is professor of drama at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada.
