The CD-ROM Puts You Behind the Wheel!
"Villeneuve: A Racing Legend" was a bit of a surprise for me. I was contacted, out-of-the-blue, by a British publisher asking me to rewrite and reissue a book that I had much success with in 1982, entitled "Villeneuve". When the idea surfaced again, I realized there was a way to make the new racing book priceless: by adding a CD-ROM.
The magic of filling the story with full-motion video, a song inspired by Gilles Villeneuve's driving, and peripheral pictures on CD-ROM would almost put you behind the wheel.
Three-time World Driving Champion, Jackie Stewart (the best-known voice in motor racing), would only give more pleasure to readers, viewers, and listeners by telling stories on the CD-ROM.
So, I did it. I traveled to England and dug through files of the best racing photographers. Not only are the photos the best shot, but I also found videos of most of Villeneuve's wild demonstrations of car control, including the final fatal one during qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix in 1982.
I hope you'll enjoy "Villeneuve: A Racing Legend" as much as I have ... the CD-ROM and the book!
