From the Author

Personal Accountability and the QBQ work!
The book Personal Accountability is the result of a lifetime of watching everybody blame everybody for everything. I've discovered that if I can avoid Victim Thinking, Blame, and Procrastination and choose the High Road - the Path to Personal Accountability - great things can happen in all areas of my life. I believe we tend to teach to others what we need to hears ourselves, so I want you to know this material is for me. As a father of four, a husband of 19 years, a professional keynote speaker, and an author, I need to practice Personal Accountability in my life in all the roles I play.

I sold leadership and sales training to corporations for 9 years and sat inside a 1,000 firms in all industries. I watched as people asked questions like "Why do we have to go through all this change?", "When is someone going to train me?", "When are we going to find good people?" and "Who made the mistake?" Then, I realized if we could just stop, in the moment, and make a better choice by asking The Question Behind the Question (QBQ) we'd prosper. A QBQ looks like "How can I develop myself?", "What can I do to adapt to the changing world?", "How can I contribute?" and "What can I do to be a more effective coach/leader today?" These questions put me on that High Road - the path to Personal Accountability.

The book has two parts. Part I is all about the QBQ, how to use it, and what it can do for our lives at work and home. Part II explores the Pillar Principles, ideas like Courage, Excellence, Ownership, Trust, and Integrity. These timeless truths are brought to life using the QBQ methodology of accountable thinking.

The book is story-based, light hearted yet life changing, and 12 point type, short paragraphs, and plenty of "white space" for those who are frightened of 300 pages!

Please, I invite you to learn, change, and grow. If, after reading the book, you'd ever like to discuss the content with me, call 800-774-0737. Enjoy!
