Synopsis

Dust-jacket reads: It has been twelve years since the publication of the McCarthy's first book, The Finger Lakes, Oxford University Press, Canada. To date, four printings have sold out. This 1997 volume, The Finger Lakes Revisited, features an exciting aerial perspective on the region including photos of all eleven Finger Lakes. Shimmering summer waters, vibrant fall colours, crisp winter landscapes, lush spring greenery... all come to life on these pages. New aerial photographs reveal the distinctive shapes of the lakes and the path of the glacier which created them. The Finger Lakes region is rich in history and tradition and scenic beauty. The legacy of the canal builder, wine maker and adventurous immigrant thrives here. The McCarthy's have captured some of their spirit with photography as sensitive and memorable as the region itself. A visual delight. A keepsake for all to share. John Francis McCarthy and Linda Bishop McCarthy live in Auburn, New York in the beautiful Finger Lakes region. This is their second book of photographs on the lakes. Oxford University Press published the first edition of their best-selling book, The Finger Lakes, in 1984. Since then, John has published The Beauty of Golf in New York State, exhibited his photographs nationally and opened a gallery in Skaneateles, New York, where he exhibits and sells his photography. Linda Bishop McCarthy teaches art in Skaneateles.
