224 pages. Hardcover with a dust jacket. Illustrated. The book combines historical and technical aspects of the Krag rifle story in a highly interesting manner. Both U.S. and European Krags are covered, but there is a special emphasis on the former. Following a detailed description of U.S. Krag rifles and carbines are extensive data on sights, bayonets, accouterments, ammunition, markings, and serial numbers. Many appendices cover specifications of the arms and ammunition, modifications made through the years, and a wealth of other information. Although chiefly for collectors, the book also has a lot to offer for arms designers, historians, and just plain gunbugs. It is the most complete and authoritative work on Krag rifles to date. An excellent study. The Book is in Near Fine condition with only modest use. The Dust Jacket has a couple of small holes at the bottom form with some small paper loss. There is other light wear to the Dust Jacket, primarily light rubbing along the edges and corners and some sight soiling. Overall the Dust Jacket is Very Good. Hardcover. 4to. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st printing. This signed copy has boards bound in blue linen with straight edges and pointed corners. Yellow titling is faded but remains legible. Spine is uncreased with rubbed head. Faded titling remains legible. Text block is square with foxed top edge. Binding is firm. 224p. You can find Mallory's personalized inscription in black ink on front fly leaf dated 1980. Interior is otherwise unmarked with crisp white pages filled with black and white illustrations and photography. Dust Jacket is unclipped with bold black titling. Edges and corners are creased. Front hinge is rubbed and lightly chipping. Open tear present at head of spine. Overall remains a lovely collectible copy. Seller Inventory # 108776
