Synopsis
Accidental Journey is a book work featuring images and texts elliptically relating to the moon and lunar exploration. Its centrepiece is a serendipitous encounter with a memento from the Apollo 11 mission at an observatory near Dublin, a small Irish flag that travelled onboard the spacecraft and for unknown reasons ended up back in Ireland.

About the Author
Tim O'Riley is an artist based in London with an interest in science and technology, particularly the kind of science that deals with phenomena beyond the realm of most people's everyday, practical experience. Science is embedded in every aspect of life, practically and philosophically. The speed with which things become obsolescent, call it the redundancy of progress, is startling and O'Riley sees his work ideally as a modest antidote to the prevailing theories of achievement with which progress often associates itself.
