Synopsis
This beautiful paperback colouring book is based on the enchanting, universally praised, life affirming classic The Lonely Tree and it's filled with faithfully reproduced pencil drawings of the original full colour illustrations. Celebrating it's 10th Anniversary in 2015, this beautiful and moving story follows the first year in the life of a lone evergreen tree growing in the heart of the ancient oak woodland of the New Forest.The evergreen is befriended by the oldest oak who has lived for hundreds of years. When winter arrives all the oak trees must go to sleep, but of course evergreens never sleep. Finally, after a long, cold and lonely winter, spring brings both sadness and joy to the little tree.

About the Author
Nicholas Halliday was born in London and grew up in Surrey. He studied at Epsom School of Art and Design, Lancashire University and Kingston University. Following his graduation from Kingston with a BA in Graphic Design, he worked as a designer and illustrator. Since publishing his first books 'The Lonely Tree' and 'The Scummage', he has run the independent children's publisher HallidayBooks producing original children's titles. He has created several commissioned books and is currently working on the long awaited prequel to The Lonely Tree. Nicholas is a patron for the children's charity 'Jigsaw4U' and works closely with other charities including 'Child Bereavement UK' where The Lonely Tree is used extensively.
