About the Author
John was born in 1943 and grew up in South Normanton, a typical working class Derbyshire village. The son of a miner, he followed in his father's footsteps into a working life in the mines that was to span some 30 years. At the tender age of just 23, his mother died...it was to be many years before John realised just how deep was the wound of parental loss. By the time he reached his mid-fifties, he was desperately fighting `panic attacks' and had no option but to seek help from the medical profession. They prescribed numerous sedatives - strong and addictive - which did little to relieve his daily torments. It was at this time that he discovered the root cause of his problem: he had never truly grieved for the death of his mother. An avid reader, he found an understand of his irrational fears and how to deal with them in the many books on the subject of how we can therapeutically use mind over matter; this alternative method of treating the sickness of the mind was successful in dragging John back from the edge of despair.
Seeking help and answers from all the avenues open to him, John discovered Spiritualism and the religion that extols its virtues. Sceptical at first - blame his electrical engineering background for that - his strong desire to reach the truth enabled him to approach this unsung faith with an open mind. 13 years on, John is now an active member of the Spiritualist Movement, and has witnessed many demonstrations which have proven to him the continuation of life after death.
He now works with his wife Diane - a working medium - serving the Spiritualist Churches throughout the country and performing, 'Medium Nights'.
