Robin Koffler, general manager of Riello UPS, is a UPS
specialist who joined Galatrek International Ltd in 1983. He was
instrumental in the company's drive towards computerisation, starting with
the finance department and later sales and marketing.
As marketing and new business manager he became a distribution channel
specialist, building key accounts overseas and in Europe. Galatrek began
trading with Italian company, Riello UPS Manufacturing srl and became their
largest UPS distributor in Europe.
Koffler was later awarded the role of joint managing director after the
company was sold to North Wales based operation, Advance Electronics,
itself a management buy-out from the Gould Corporation in the early 1980s.
When Advance later sold their UPS division to Riello UPS in 2003, Koffler
was asked to head up its new UK subsidiary - Riello Galatrek Ltd, which was
renamed Riello UPS in 2006. He became general manager and grew the company
by 30 percent in two years.
His success is due in part to awareness of the fundamentals of good
business practice and embracing new technology to streamline operations; a
task he has taken to heart in redesigning Riello's web site and introducing
e-commerce initiatives.
Koffler also has an MBA from the Open University, a graduate diploma from
CIM (The Chartered Institute of Marketing) and was one of the UK's first
registered Chartered Marketers.
