`Tapestry of Light' presents a radically new view on material reality, solidly supported by well-established scientific observations and substantial mathematics (elsewhere), but in a form that requires NO scientific or mathematical ability to clearly understand its revolutionary message. There's not even one plus sign in the whole text of this book.
The message of this book is both very simple and utterly profound. Everything around you is made of light. Even your own physical body is made of light. Mystics and sages have been telling us this for thousands of years. Sir Isaac Newton and physicist David Bohm, referred to by Einstein as "my intellectual successor", both endorsed the idea. Now, for the very first time, this book gives a firm scientific basis for this mind-expanding perspective on the material realm.
Starting from thoroughly tested findings of Quantum Theory and Relativity Theory, `Tapestry' uncovers various remarkable consequences. First, it gives new insights into the nature of time itself, explaining the reality behind the concept of `spacetime'. It also shows exactly why time slows down for objects moving at high speeds, as described in Special Relativity and proven in practical situations.
Second, it shows why light always appears to be going at the same speed, whatever the speed of the observer may be. This fundamental feature of Special Relativity has never been explained before, it's simply been taken as "That's just how it is". This particular insight also opens up new frontiers of science, thought to be closed off by the possibility of time-reversal threatening the normal process of cause and effect if the speed of light is exceeded. That threat is shown to be nonexistent.
Third, it shows how this light-structure (as it turns out to be) of material particles leads directly to the Lorentz Transformation, used by scientists to shift between different states of motion in their calculations. This result exactly matches the formula produced by Relativity Theory (You don't need to understand the formula to understand the significance of this result). This formula also gives a strong foundation for Einstein's Principle of Special Relativity, which has never previously been proved.
Last, but by no means least, it shows exactly what causes inertia, the need to apply a force in order to get something moving or slow it down. This also explains very clearly why any object has more energy when it's moving faster, why it takes increasing amounts of energy to speed things up as they get nearer to the speed of light, and why it's impossible for a material object to exceed the speed of light (or even reach that speed).
Oh yes, and all that inertia stuff leads straight to the famous "E = mc squared" equation, as well.
All of this without the reader having to get their heads round any maths at all, or take on board any new complicated scientific concepts. A few simple diagrams help to illustrate the basic ideas - nothing more tricky than a rope round a piece of pipe, a right-angled triangle or a flatbed truck on a railway line. The detailed maths are all laid out in a separate later companion volume: `Behind the Tapestry: The Threads Revealed'.
Together, these explanations show in detail how ALL of the experimentally confirmed findings of Special Relativity come about. In most cases this is the very first time that a thorough scientific explanation has been given for these effects. In other words, the only rational scientific explanation for all of those various effects, an explanation that covers every one of those effects, is that MATTER IS MADE OF LIGHT. This explanation is strongly supported by recent ground-breaking experimental and theoretical findings published in peer -reviewed journals.
In its final chapter `Tapestry' points to wider implications such as electrical charge, gravitation and the `shape' of spacetime as described in Einstein's Theory of General Relativity. Although full explanations for these aren't included in this book, that final chapter makes it clear that the light-based structure of matter offers very credible and comprehensive explanations for all of these effects as well.
There is no other book on the market that offers clear non-technical explanations for all of the proven findings of Special Relativity, consistent with the principles of Quantum Mechanics. There is no other book on the market that shows, clearly and comprehensively, that the whole of the material realm is one wonderfully intricate Tapestry of Light.
[There is, though, another book that offers exactly the same take on reality, in a beautiful flowing poetic style with colourful illustrations on over 40% of the double-page spreads. That book is `Breath of the Cosmos', by the same author and from the same publisher.]

You've probably heard it said that matter is composed of light - frozen light, crystallised light. It's a beautiful imagery, a wonderfully inspirational perspective on the material world. It's a concept that our hearts embrace as 'feeling right', that our heads would love to believe.
What, then, if it could be shown - proved to you in terms that you could easily follow - that the whole of material reality is indeed composed of light? Not frozen, not crystallised, but vibrant, dynamic, unimaginably active and creative. What if you were left in absolutely no doubt that your own physical body, as well as everything around you, is formed of the stuff of starlight and rainbows? Might not that change your outlook on life - for ever?
If you're not ready for that change, read no further. Because that's what this book is all about.
"Oh yes", I hear you cry, "another new-age flight into the realms of Wisdom handed down from Higher Sources, great to meditate on but quite a way removed from anything you can hold in your hand or write equations about."
No. This is not that sort of book. This book is all about things you can hold in your hand, and for those that enjoy them there are plenty of equations, in a companion volume. But don't let that put you off, this Journey Into Reality is for everybody. (This book contains NO maths).
Question is, are you ready to be shown, unmistakably, that light in its myriad forms is all there is? That the whole cosmos is one single undivided tapestry of light-flows? That our notions of physical boundaries between separate objects are, indeed, illusion - that there are no 'separate objects'? That there are, in fact, no `objects' or even `particles' at all, except in our perception?
Are you ready to come face to face with who you really are?
