When young writing talent is ignored or, at worst, deliberately suppressed, you know something's up. Despite some positive initiatives within the British poetry scene, there remains a general unwillingness amongst some in the 'industry' to engage seriously with young writers.
"Generation Txt" is an attempt to redress the balance, to give some of our most talented and promising young writers a platform for their work. From over one hundred and fifty submissions from all over the UK we've found six poets in their early or mid-twenties, six of the best. This is the generation that reached adulthood either side of the Millennium, the generation of Blogs, iPods and ASBOs; the generation of 9/11 and 7/7. You will find poems here that inspire, entertain and make you think. Poems that follow Ezra Pound's command to 'Make it new'.
