Synopsis
In these forty letters Richard Jacobs attempts two significant revisions to the spirit of the times. The first is a re-instatement of beauty as a meaningful and unapologetic description in our daily lives. The second is in his appeal to artist-makers to reflect deeply on the meaning of what they do. He sets out to establish, beyond fashionable doubt, the enduring integrity and significance of the maker's whole other world of knowledge . About the Author
Richard Jacobs is Professor Emeritus at the University of California Pomona. An inter-disciplanarian he helped establish a national US interdisciplanary curriculum. He is also a noted collector of craft and has a growing international reputation as a commentator on modern studio ceramics.
