Peter Hutley and his wife Ann have lived at Wintershall, a sporting and farming estate, in the beautiful Surrey Hills, south of Guildford, for nearly fifty years. They have seen their four children and many grandchildren, born and brought up there. One Man's Life is an autobiography that reveals a man's desire to create a beautiful and secure, safe country home for his wife and children and prosperous business background and future for them all. It tells of his early years of estate management, his development and construction of large and significant building around the world; farming tropical crops and developing and operating successful banking and insurance businesses in London. And perhaps, most important of all his realisation of the love of God and the founding of a deep and lasting faith. For a man of action the expression of faith was in deeds. So Peter Hutley turned his attention to the enormous task of bringing Christ to people. This he has achieved by writing and producing plays performed in the open air theatres at Wintershall and elsewhere. To date over a quarter of a million people have seen one of his three plays portraying the Life of Christ. In recent years Peter Hutley has received widespread recognition for his charitable and religious work. In 2004 he was awarded an MBE for services to the community, probably for the construction of the HASTE Wing at the local hospital, other awards include a Knight of the Order of St Gregory - a Papal award for the ecumenical work of his Christian Plays and the Templeton Award.
