Synopsis
This book celebrates the completion of Words for Well-Being, a three year Arts Council South West Lottery-funded series of workshops and training organised by Lapidus Cornwall. It includes articles, reflections, poems, stories and accounts of workshops by over 30 contributors who participated in the programme. About the Author
Victoria Field moved to Cornwall in 1999 where she now works as a writer and poetry therapist. She has published two collections of poetry, Olga's Dreams and Many Waters, both with fal, her own award-winning small press. Many Waters is based on a year-long residency at Truro Cathedral. Her poetry has been broadcast on BBC Radio Cornwall, Radio 3 and Radio 4. She also writes fiction and drama and has had two plays produced by Hall for Cornwall: Blood (2005) and Glass Heart (2006). She is a member of Falmouth Poetry Group and a former chair of Lapidus. She gives workshops in many different educational, health and community settings and is co-editor with Gillie Bolton and Kate Thompson of Writing Works (JKP, 2006). She qualified as a Certified Poetry Therapist through the US National Association for Poetry Therapy in 2005, and in 2006 received a Pioneer Award for her work in the field. Zeeba Ansari is a poetry tutor. She works in partnership with Cornwall Library and Adult Education Services, running poetry workshops for adults. She runs The Poetry Practice, offering workshops, readings, critiques and mentoring, and provides administrative and marketing support for Lapidus Cornwall.
