However well-known Dearn may have been, this extraordinarily well researched book reveals that Dearn was of Royal parentage and indeed the nephew of a king. To continue the Royal association, Dearn then adopted his sister's daughter whose father was the Prince Regent. Light is shed "on a dark and obscure period of English history" in this "definitive biography". Included with this is a Supplement comprising "additional information to the Dearn story" and errata. SIGNED on title page by the author; SIGNED on the Foreword page by BRD [Richard Dearn] Price who contributed the Foreword, who assisted the author in researching Dearn's life, and who provided some of the funding to enable this book to be produced; and SIGNED on front free end paper by Peter Allen, a leading historian of Cranbrook in the modern era, one-time editor of the Cranbrook Journal, chairman of the Cranbrook & District Local History Society and a highly-regarded teacher at Cranbrook School.
