What started out as the recording of my fathers 21 years service with the Norfolks has now expanded to this detailed account of an action fought over fifty six years ago at Kanglatongbi in the jungles of Assam. Five years ago I would never have thought that my quest would have led me to write counless letters all over the United Kingdom,India,Australia and even Japan.Gradually several unpublished papers and accounts built up my file,as did the eyewitness accounts of the survivors of the action. Now after finally putting together their true story of the battle at Kanglatongbi I hope I have done justice to the memory of those who fought there.
