1.2 Where You Work
The first thing you see when the computer has finished starting up the the Desktop screen. It is referred to as the desktop because you will be using it is you would the top of a real office desk.
You will place new or previously created work here as you would place a writing pad, a sheet of paper or a calculator on top of your real desk. You will do this electronically, of course, on the computer.
