It did not appear for the fifty-four years during which the duchy was part of East Germany, but publication was resumed, in English, in 1998. It includes updated information on births, marriages, deaths and dissolutions, changes in family headship, and private addresses. There is also a fuller index listing Gotha family entrants, their spouses and in-laws by name. This is the 186th edition.
