Bowden is well aware that knowing all the answers does not make anyone a Christian. He closes with a page on the wilful blindness of Scientists and an urgent appeal to believe the Gospel. From the Author

The sections of this book may need some explanation. To attempt to deal with the wide range of subjects involved in a work such as this in the strict order that they occur in the biblical account, would result in a very uneven progress through the various chapters and verses - some requiring only a brief mention, others taking very many pages. To avoid this and adequately deal with each subject, I have only briefly set out the major comments on the more important verses in Genesis so that they form a basic framework. Minor topics are dealt with in Section 1, but major subjects are examined more fully in the rest of the book.In the research for this book, the problems that had to be dealt with were much greater than for earlier works. In them, the subject was a false scientific theory that had been closely examined and criticised by many writers. I have been studying, lecturing and writing against evolution since 1969 and can state from experience that there is not a single piece of evidence that seems to support evolution that cannot be demolished by a creationist expert in that field. It is this volume of evidence that enables creationists to debate with academics at any level. As a result of this work over many years, the total material available is very great. This was drawn on in the writing of my "Science vs Evolution" to produce a comprehensive book that exposed the fallacies of all the major facts produced in its support and many of the minor ones. Having effectively dismissed evolution as an acceptable theory of how the universe, this earth and man in particular came into existence, it is obviously necessary that this void should be filled with a Biblical alternative that is scientifically sound. There are, however, very few creationist works that attempt to give a fully comprehensive scriptural version of how the processes of Creation and the Flood could have produced the present world as it is found. The subjects that have had to be investigated are very wide and many different viewpoints dealing with the same topic had to be examined and weighed for acceptability. One important area of difficulty is geology and so far no sequence of events that can adequately explain the present strata has been set out by any creationist. In this, and several other subjects, only the most likely views can be provided at this stage...

This is only the very briefest of outlines, but it will be sufficient for its present purpose. This work is therefore written from the position of a Reformed Evangelical Bible-believing young earth creationist. If this acts as a trigger for words such as narrow minded and bigoted, then so be it - but it is only fair that the reader should be aware, at the very beginning, of where I am coming from and that there is no hidden agenda. If (and it is a sincere hope) this book should convince the reader of the Bibles reliability for the first time, then may it be a start to you seeking the Real Truth within His Word and thereby eventually experiencing the ultimate joy - which is to join the many millions of Christians who will glorify God and enjoy Him forever.
