Synopsis
"This volume is a combination of two books. Mr McShane wrote on I Samuel some years ago, drawing on the history and the leaders of the kingdom of Israel in its earliest days to illustrate the importance of elders and godly shepherds in the church today. He shows from I Samuel that those in authority have an onerous responsibility, and that it is necessary for leaders to be godly if an assembly is to prosper. Mr McShane has now completed a similar exercise on II Samuel, and these books are now combined in this volume" (from the Foreword dated 1990).
