Synopsis
This work for musicians and programmers describes the features of MIDI and its support of real-time access to musical devices. Information is given on how to create screen displays, write low-level assemby language routines for MIDI and develop a patch library. It also introduces the principles of C programming and how they can be related to programming in a MIDI environment via a patch library and a simple sequencer application. A computer disk with all the programs is also available, formatted in MS/PC-DOS. It supports Microsoft C and Turbo C.
