This anthology contains the work of five women writers. They include college teachers, psychotherapists and a journalist; their careers have encouraged a shared inclination to reflect on and communicate our thoughts about the human condition. They also represent the merged core memberships of two different writing groups, one of which has been meeting for more than twenty years. In this long creative association, the authors have struggled to understand what makes a poem either "lightning" or "lightning bug," to paraphrase Mark Twain. The authors live in the Greater Baltimore area.
