Kroeber Clocks is a much needed and long awaited addition to the horoligist's library. The book is divided into three parts: American, Imported, and Others. The American section comprises approximately two-thirds of the entire book and includes Tran Duy Ly's important tips in selecting and appraising a Kroeber clock. There is also an eighteen page history of the American company written by leading horological historian Chris H. Bailey, the Staff Horologist of the American Clock and Watch Museum. The clocks are organized by type and the American clocks include alarm, calendar, carriage, regulators, mantel, novelty, plush, and porcelain clocks, regulators, sidepieces and statuettes. The imported clocks include chime, cuckoo and trumpeters, mantel, mechanical, vienna regulators and others. The last section of the book, Others, includes a pictorial reference on clock names, a very nicely illustrated section on dials, company documents and labels. Sections on Movements and on Pendulums leads up to the all important indexes. The book comes with a 2006 Price Booklet.
