Farrel Dobbs has been a communist since 1934. A leader of the 1934 Minneapolis Teamster strikes, he was the central Teamster organizer of the first campaign to organize over-the-road truck drivers. He served thirteen months in the federal penitentiary at Sandstone, Minnesota, for his political opposition to U.S. imperialism's course in World War II.
