Frank C. Montagna is a thirty-five year veteran of the Fire Department of the City of New York. He has served as an officer for twenty-six of those years and the last eighteen as a battalion chief. Battalion Chief Montagna holds a bachelor of fire science degree from John Jay College, where he has also taught as an adjunct professor. As an author, his articles have encompassed many firematic subject areas. He has been published in WNYF magazine and Fire Engineering magazine where he is also a contributing editor. Trained by the International Association of Fire Chiefs as a carbon monoxide response instructor, he has lectured extensively in the United States and Canada on the subject of carbon monoxide. Montagna holds seminars on firefighting related topics and has spoken at the Fire Department Instructors Conference and the New York City Fire Department Institute's Structural Firefighting Seminars. He is the author of the best selling text, Responding to ""Routine"" Emergencies.
