About the Author

The editor, Owen Holland, is senior lecturer in computer science at the University of Essex, and has researched in the area of biologically inspired robotics for fifteen years. He has previously held faculty positions in psychology and in electrical engineering, and has worked in universities and research laboratories in the UK, Belgium, Germany and the USA.
